I’m embarrassed to say that we are going on our fourth Rick Steves tour and never gave a thought to leaving a tip for hotel staff. I assumed Rick covered all tips as they do for guides and drivers. I was wondering if others leave a tip in their rooms. I know some BnB operators are offended if you tip them. Your thoughts and thank you in advance.

Your tour includes tips for the guide, driver, group meals, and housekeeping. Please do not tip beyond this. When you're out on your own it's customary to round up, or add a euro or two, rather than tip a certain percentage.

In the 2 star hotels I stay in Paris, I choose to leave a tip, esp if a stay of more than 3 nights.

On the three RS tours we've taken, our guides always indicate that they leave tips for the hotel staff; and that we have already paid as part of our tour fees.

Thank you for the responses. I have always tipped on pre-tour or post tour stays, but assumed RS paid the hotel bill and would tip housekeeping. I’ll continue to monitor responses, but thank you for the help!
