Hotel recommendation for London

I am traveling to London with two older teenage daughters, and we are looking for a clean but basic hotel in a safe neighborhood. It must allow 3 people in one room. We need have decent wifi (because teenagers) and a good breakfast, because we usually eat a big breakfast on travel and skip lunch. They have not been to London before, so we will hit the big tourist spots, so I'm looking for a hotel close to a subway stop. Thanks.

Premier Inns are affordable hotels similar to Holiday Inns in the USA. There are several in London.

At the Premier Inn, it will depend on the ages of your teens as to whether 3 will fit in one room. Max is 2 over 16s.

As mentioned above, Premier Inns are a good choice. I've stayed at a number of them throughout the UK and have always had a good experience. It is a British chain that can be found in just about any London neighborhood. The hotels are consistently good, with very comfortable beds, are clean and very reasonably priced. The earlier you book, the lower the price. Earlier this year, I spent 5 nights at the Premier Inn County Hall, which is a block or two away from Westminster Bridge south of the Thames, and near Waterloo Station (FYI, it's not called "subways" there—either the Tube or the Underground will work). :-) Most PIs are close to a Tube stop, and of course, walking is always an option. https://www.premierinn.com/gb/en/home.html

As long as one of your daughters is under 16, you could try and get a family room, which is a bit bigger and would have an extra bed. Another nice feature of PIs is if you purchase breakfast, two kids (under 16) can get a free breakfast. They give you a choice of a continental breakfast or a full cooked breakfast. Nothing fancy but filling and good.

Before I booked my hotel, I posted a question here about 5-6 PIs and received a lot of responses, so you may want to look through this thread: https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/england/requesting-opinions-of-certain-premier-inns-in-london

EDIT: One last note: their wifi is not the best, but if you don't think it's sufficient for your needs, you can bump up to the premium wifi for an addition £5. I found it was worth it.

I would check out the Premier Inn properties, especially the County Hall property near Waterloo station. I would also check out several Hilton properties--the Hampton Inn ear Waterloo, the Westminster Curio, and the Hyde Park and Metropol Hiltons. On occasion, I can find one Hilton family property offering reasonable rates.

I find that some of the smaller family-run hotels favored in the past by RS to be surprisingly expensive.
