Hotel near London City Airport

We are traveling to Italy, coming from SFO to Heathrow, and have to spend the night before flying out of London City Airport the next morning. Is there a nearby hotel that provides shuttle to airport? Or any hotel that provides shuttle to London City Airport? And if so, what kind of transportation from Heathrow? Or any other advice to handle differently would be appreciated. Thanks.

Nearest hotel to LCY is a Travelodge, within walking distance or one stop on the bus.

Public transport route is Piccadilly Line to Green Park, Jubilee line to Canning Town and then DLR to Pontoon Dock (one stop before LCY but slightly nearer). Also an Ibis hotel closeby.

"Shuttles" - if you mean transport provided by hotels, that does not usually exist in London, or in Europe in general, as all airports are served by public transport.
London City airport is served by the DLR (an elevated driverless train system that covers parts of East London)
It is also on the opposite side of London to Haethrow, getting from one to the other involves going through central London. It is in an industrial area (former docks), unlikely to be many hotels nearby.
I suggest you stay in central London, then get the DLR out to City Airport for your morning flight.

If you don't want to take public transportation, either from Heathrow in to London, or the next morning from London out to City Airport, you can book a minicab. That's Britspeak for a pre-booked car service, which is much cheaper than a black cab hailed at the airport or in London. Just Airports and Simply Airports are two services often mentioned (no personal experience). Note that for Just Airports, they have a MUCH lower price for paying with cash compared to paying with a credit card.

Thanks! I don't mind taking public transport at all! Just needed some guidance. I think staying in Central London then using public transport to the airport seems most logical! And if Pontoon Dock is closest exit, I'll use that one. Thank you for your time.

If you are actually going to the airport, use the airport stop for the DLR. Pontoon Dock is best for the nearby hotels.

The DLR drops you off right in front of the terminal. (Look for the machines to swipe out of the DLR. There are no barriers. I forgot to do this once and paid full daily fare on Oyster rather than a one way fare.)

Once in the terminal it's about 50 feet to the elevator/escalator up to security and departure gates. The airline check in desks are to your right. Once past security you are in the main area of the terminal and no more than a three minute walk to the furthest gate.

It's a really small airport.
