Hi! I am heading to Europe in June with 2 friends and we are starting the trip in London (Then Paris, Positano and Rome). Wanted to see if anyone could recommend a hip but not super expensive hotel in a central location near sites and night life?
Please define "hip." Or at least the criteria you expect the hotel to match. Second - the top limit to "super expensive."
Hi Frank! By hip, I am thinking a place that attracts a younger adult crowd and top limit for hotel would be $300 per night.
Try the Hoxton hotels.
Mondrian Sea Containers on the South Bank of the Thames is great. It might just come within budget.
Otherwise I agree with the Hoxton recommendation. The original is in Hoxton itself, slightly east of central London but well-connected by Tube and is Hipster Central.
Then there’s Hoxton Holborn, which is in a great central London location.
We stayed at the Moxy at Vienna Airport last September. “Hip” was, in fact, the very word we used to describe it. Try googling Moxy hotels London. Genial crowds in lobby, large bar, limited buffet and food on offer, socializing, cocktails, very young vibe all the way around. Actually, we decided it was way too hip for us, but I’m sure YMMV. Have fun and safe travels.
