I have to be in London for work, but am extending my stay to add some leisure days with my husband. I currently have two reservations, one at the "company" hotel near the office, Pestana Chelsea Bridge, and one near Covent Garden, Wilde Aparthotel. If we stay at Wilde, we'll need to change hotels to the Pestana for the couple of days I have to be there for work. I had only considered changing locations because I thought the Pestana would be in a less-than-ideal location for the tourist part of the trip, but it seems to get positive reviews for being a good location. If you're familiar with either of these, what say ye? The cost is comparable. Neither includes breakfast. Thanks!
The Wilde is walking distance to many London sight-seeing highlights and will cut travel times in half to the sights to the east - St. Paul's, Tower of London, London Bridge.
I'd weigh the inconvenience of moving luggage and your home base with the travel and access advantages of Covenant Garden. And, it might be nice to experience the two different lodgings and neighborhoods.
Thanks so much. I suspected that moving hotels would be the thing to do. We're used to moving on to a new place every 2-3 nights anyway, so actually being in London for 9 nights will feel like a luxury. Now we have to decide the rest of the itinerary! :)
