Hoping for feedback on time frame and whether I can add, or should subtract from my list:

We were in London last summer, for the first time, for five nights. I loved it, but want to see more. We were with another couple and compromises meant skipping some things. We did the Tower, Westminster Abbey, War Rooms, a West End show, some markets. and a little bit of Tate Modern, British Museum and V and A.

We are planning to go back this summer for 7 nights and want to include the following:
- A daytrip to Cambridge
- A river cruise to Greenwich
- Hampton Court Palace
- British Library and maybe the National Gallery
- Return to Tate Modern. the V and A.
- Afternoon Tea
-See a musical

I have a sense of the time needed for the things in London (museums, tea etc) but am not sure about Greenwich and Cambridge, if they each should have a full day. We can trim off Tate Modern if need be. Was also wondering if I should ditch something and do Bath as a day trip.

You are missing the British Museum and do visit Bath as a day trip from London that’s a 1h 30m direct train ride.

Cambridge would be best as a full-day trip. Greenwich could be half a day. The river is the fun way to get there, but the Docklands Light Railway also works, would save time returning.

Nothing wrong with Bath, though I'd hate to spend three hours on the train that day. It's better if you can spend a night there, or even two. Save it for your next trip when you explore the rest of Britain.

British Library can be quite brief - even if you view each document carefully. Small, but "impactful" display area. This could be combined with British Museum. I'm a walker, frequently walk between the two, but your choices of transport may not be mine. About 20 minutes walk.

There are options for river approach to Hampton Court. Did you want to visit Greenwich, or mainly the cruise? I have spent ( on multiple occasions), the better part of a full day at Greenwich - observatory, Queen's house, Cutty Sark, Maritime Museum, etc.

I would allocate a full day to Cambridge especially with transport out of London. Did you compare with Oxford?

How about Bletchley Park if you have an interest in WWII history and the Enigma code breaking?

I’d give Cambridge a full day.

Have lunch at the venerable Eagle Pub…. For the history alone…or simply find a to go meal at the Market Square market stalls.

The Fitzwilliam Museum is free and interesting.

See the mathematical bridge.

And yes climb the St Mary tower steps for an iconic view….believe you have to pay for the privilege nowadays.

There’s a nice walking path along the River Cam
