Hop on hop off bus

I was planning to use the hop on hop off bus on Friday, July 13 but I’m wondering if all of the Trump protests will make this a bad idea as far as traffic goes- Thoughts?

Doubt if it will have much impact. London is a big town and the buses will know how to avoid the crowds.

I did the HoHo bus on the Friday before the wedding in May. It was miserable around the palace. Took us over 45 minutes trying to get down Tothill Street. If you can do it the day before or after I would suggest it then. Otherwise I would be a no.

Curious as why Harry and Meghan’s May wedding at Windsor caused a traffic jam by Buckingham Palace?

In response the the posters question I would say avoid the Hop On Hop Off bus on Friday. In fact I’d move across or up river to the Tower of London or Greenwich.

Or off to somewhere like Portobello Road or Camden Lock Markets.

Thanks everybody, I think I’m going to take my chances and try the hop on hop off bus Friday. I only have Thursday and Friday in London and Thursday I’m going to Windsor Castle and Hampton court because Windsor Castle is closed on Friday. Hopefully things won’t be too jammed.

Claudia,
Probably because there was not going to be a changing of the guard on Saturday. We stupidly passed by some 45 minutes after it was over and there were so many people there it looked like it was still going on. Hope things are going o.k. for Kristen. :)

It wasn’t too bad until we got near Westminster- I got off there and walked for a bit and caught the bus again farther away. It wasn’t as bad as I expected 🤣
