Holland Park vs. Chelsea vs. Earl's Court for apartment rental (family of four with children)

Hello, I'm seeking advice on whether to rent a flat in Holland Park , Chelsea (close to the Thames on the South end) or Earl's Court. I am traveling with youngish children and want a spot that would be a good home base...close to transportation and central, yet family-friendly. The Holland Park location seems tranquil, yet the Holland Park tube will likely be closed. We will have to walk farther to Shepherd's Bush or Notting Hill Gate (9 minutes). The Chelsea location will also have a good walk to a tube station. It is an 11 minute walk to the Sloane Square Station from that flat. I'm tempted by the Chelsea location as we can actually walk to Westminster Abbey and The Eye. But the Holland Park location seems lovely and the proximity of a park for my children is tempting.

My usual motto is to get as central as possible, but perhaps a cute neighborhood would be better.

We also have a nice Earl's Court option with three tubes under five minutes walking, but is the area less exciting?

May I have your input?

Thanks very much.

Thank you, Emma. The Chelsea location is Gatliff Road. It looks very quiet without many restaurants.

Yes Holland Park underground station is closed. New elevator installation.

However, as Emma rightfully suggested you can use a bus to get to either Shepard's Bush or Nottinghill Stations.

I stayed in the Holland Park last November. Loved it. My flat was 3 blocks away from Portobello Road and extremely quiet.

How close is the holland park accommodation to Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens? If you seek a spot for the kids to romp nothing better than Hyde Park. You can all enjoy the waterfowl at the Round Pond, the kids will like Diana's Playground. You can picnic, ride bikes.

If it were my choice I'd stay as close to Hyde Park so all of you can enjoy it.

I booked an apartment in Earls court, then I checked Tripavdisor and it had horrible reviews, I was able to get 100% back... be sure and check reviews first and when looking at the map choose satellite so you can see what the neighborhood really looks like... there was a train station right behind the apartment that we could only see using the satellite view.
We found a nice apartment in Bayswater just 2blocks from the tube and in a wonderful neighborhood with a better price and great reviews!!!

Holland Park is one of the great neighborhoods of London and you won't regret it if you stay there! Having kids, the park is a huge bonus with several playgrounds, lots of space to run around, and other children to help entertain them. It's a quiet neighborhood as well which I think is a bonus with a family. The bus is such an easy option and will make it seem like that much more of an adventure for your kids!

Thank you to all who have replied. I really appreciate your advice. I had almost settled on the Holland Park flat based on your suggestions when one came up near the Gloucester Road tube. Gloucester Road/South Kensington seems like a great area, but would also love to get your advice! Thanks again!!!
