My husband and I are visiting this July, and plan to see most of the castles included in this membership, so it makes economic sense. Has anyone purchased this membership, and does it allow you to skip the entrance lines? I am willing to pay a bit extra to save time, so would I be better off purchasing advance tickets, or with the membership?
There is contact information on the HRP website, if no one on the forum can answer your question.
you go directly to the security queue. Nobody skips the security. You miss the ticket window queue.
Your bags will be checked at The Tower, Hampton Court Palace and Kensington Palace. I haven't gone to the places in Scotland or Northern Ireland so can't speak for them. The security for the Pagoda and Kew Palace are down to Kew Gardens and will be no more than - and no less than - their current security policy, but remember that you don't get free entrance to Kew Gardens which you need to visit Kew Palace and the Pagoda. You do get 10% off though.
I've been an HRP member for a while. I love it.
Remember that there is a Member's Room at Hampton Court Palace. A member of staff at the security line will tell you where it is, and what the code is to enter.
Members get a discount on food in the cafes - you need to show your card. Hampton Court Palace, in particular, has lots of good nutritious food at reasonable prices, including some fabulous salads. My wife likes the Cumberland Sausage and Mash (or chips (fries to Americans but not the same)) - I don't have that as it is not as slimming as the salads.
My husband and I purchased an HRH membership online. They sent the card and an informative guide to us promptly as well as answered my email query. On our recent trip (FEB), we used our membership for Kensington Palace, the Banqueting House, and the Tower of London. Security was quick - and, of course, no lines for tickets. When we ordered the pass, it was good for 15 months. We got good value for it, and I will use it for Hampton Court and Kew Palace when I return this summer.
