Does anyone have experience with hiking the Cotswolds trail? how many days did it take? places to stay? Is it worth doing? Thanks
You mean the Cotswolds Way? Probably 7-10 days. Is it worth it? Only you can decide that after researching the route.
This website has plenty of information: https://www.nationaltrail.co.uk/en_GB/trails/cotswold-way/
We walked the entire trail in 2023 over a period of 8 days. Depending on how much hiking you do, I would consider that a minimum about of time since even then we had a couple 16 mile days back to back. On the other hand, we met a young man on the trail training to run the whole length in 1 day!
The Cotswold Way is a little over 100 miles, so it’s really going to depend on how fast you walk. The website says that most people take anywhere from 7 to 12 days. Honestly, your best bet is going online and doing a search. Here is the main website for the Cotswolds Way, and you can get a lot of info there:

Keep in mind that you will need to decide how you’re going to travel. There are some people that just bring a backpack and find places to stay. But honestly, it’s a lot easier if you use a company that will take your things from hotel to hotel. When I was in northern England, I met a couple and the husband was walking Hadrian’s Wall, and they had hired someone that booked their hotels and did a lot of the work for them, and then arranged to have their bags picked up at one hotel and taken to the next one. It makes it a lot easier to do the walk if you don’t have to worry about finding a place to stay each night and carrying clothes on your back.
But I would try the above website first as it has a ton of information in there that should help you out and get you the information you need for your initial research.
If you decide to go with a company that handles accommodations and luggage transfer, I recommend Cotswolds Walks. We used them and were very happy with them. They are extremely helpful and responsive. I know others on the forum have recommended them as well.
On this website can find walking tours in the Cotswolds from 4 to 10 days. They transport your luggage, send you GPX map and you have 24/7 support.
My husband and I (both 59 years old) just finished walking the length of the Cotswold Way last week. We did it over 9 days, with two of those days in the 16-17 mile range. Be aware that it is hillier than you may expect. It was totally worth it. We met so many nice people--both other walkers, townspeople, lodging hosts, and wait staff. If you drink alcohol, definitely try the hard cider. We particularly enjoyed a Thatcher's Haze ( or two) at the end of the day.
We used CarryABag to transport our one suitcase between lodgings and carried just the day's food, water, and our personal items in our pack--about 15 pounds each.
For "fun", we only used the maps in the guidebooks and finding waypost signs--no phone apps. We got mildly off trail only about a half dozen times.
We planned our own lodgings using recommendations from a couple of Cotswold Way guidebooks (about 7 months prior to our trip). Most were good to great. One was kind of grungy and staff were surly.
Mips80, the company you linked to just above is the one you were asking folks about in April. Are you recommending them now from personal experience or mentioning them before you've used them?
