Here I go again....

Anyone know how the area is Dean Street near St. Annes Court? (in London)

It is in Soho. Very central location. Lots of restaurants, bars, clubs. Could be noisy at night, so I'd check on that.

Since I've seen all your threads and you seem to be having trouble finding a place for 7....

Have you looked at Vancouver Studios in Bayswater? They have apartments also and you might be able to work out two apartments in close proximity. I have not stayed there but it has been recommended by multiple people on this board.

I so appreciate all the help! You guys are amazing. I do have to say, even with all your suggestions, nothing really worked for one thing or another. Lots of places didn't have openings for my dates, or rooms didn't work, or whatever.

But.......I'm done!!! Dad said the Travelodge would be fine (he really isn't that picky) but he was hoping we would all be together. I'm thinking we are only going to be sleeping there, we can all be in one room to talk about the next day and then have our own space (which also might be nice since apartments with 7 could be really crowded) for sleeping and getting ready.

We are booked!! We will get breakfast every morning, they have AC, elevator, near a tube station and buses. I think it will be fine.

I appreciate all the help!!! Now I can just ask about fun things.......!!

Glad to hear you worked something out. Travelodge is a good budget option. Only negative is they won't hold your luggage if you arrive early or after you check out, so plan accordingly.

Thanks for that tip Laura. Luckily, on the website they have an option for early check in or late checkout (for a fee, I think 10 pounds per room, not bad). So I did pay for the early check in.

That's wonderful. I thought all along that that was a good choice.

The flat you were looking at yesterday is a prime example of how they can take advantage of people in an unregulated illegal industry.

Despite the large numbers of apartments rented to tourists in London, the landlords are outside the law, and there is nobody to complain to if things go wrong.

Just last week I was reading in a London paper that there is some movement afoot to allow landlords to rent their own flat short term for up to a total of 3 months a year - but this hasn't happened.

Just like Paris, these are actually not legal.

Travelodges may be basic and simple, but they are reliable and a recognised name.

Yes!! A BIG sigh of relief!! I think I've lost a few pounds and only had minimal sleep the last 2 weeks. I can't even begin to tell you the amount of hours I have spent on the internet...and losing a couple pounds was lack of time to eat!

I can not thank you all enough! It was so nice to not feel alone in the process!

Laura , Thanks for the heads up on Travelodge . I have never used one ( generally stick with Premier in the UK ) but that's the first time I have heard of a hotel not holding luggage . It is certainly something for anyone to keep in mind when choosing a hotel !
