Hello,
We will be in London the day of the London Marathon. Also, we are staying at the Doubletree Tower of London which I understand is in the thick of things. Our Harry Potter Studio tour is not until 5pm. We will watch some of the race that morning then would like to go to Kensington area and possible lunch/tea there. Then from Kensington area to Harry Potter Studios. I understand the tube/buses will be running but very crowded. Could you advise me of the best way to get from our hotel to the Kensington area, then from there to Harry Potter studios.
Thank you
Circle Line via Victoria to High Street Kensington. Then back on the circle (or District) to the terminus at Edgware Road, switch trains/platforms to either a Hammersmith or City or a Circle via Kings Cross (as the train describers show it) which has started at Hammersmith and is doing the same circle as you have just done.
Take that to Euston Square, then walk to Euston and train to Watford Junction as your other thread.
Hammersmith or City or a Circle via Kings Cross
I think that Stuart meant to say "Hammersmith and City" or Circle (line train).
If in Kensington you could also see if getting to Shepherds Bush (and its adjacent huge Westfield shopping mall) to take the Southern train from there to Watford Junction would be easier or faster. If trying that option be sure it is running - it is one of the first Southern services to go up the spout when things go askew.
