We have from Saturday, September 30 around noon through the end of the day, Tuesday, October 3 in London and would greatly appreciate help with how to plan our time. We definitely want to see Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abby, Churchill War Rooms, Tower of London, British Museum, and the British Library. We are going to Saints football game Sunday afternoon at 2:30 and we have theater tickets for Monday evening. How can we do all this? It's possible we could add Wednesday to the plan if necessary.
Thanks
Hi, do you want to go inside Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, and Tower of London or do you want to just walk past/see the outside?
We want go inside.
You should be able to pack in everything on the list, providing you buy advance tickets. Do one thing Sat afternoon. One thing Sunday morning (but don't take too long - it might take a while to get out to Wembley for the game). Two things located close together for Monday - one in the morning, one in the afternoon ( I'd suggest Westminster Abbey and the War rooms, since they're relatively close together). Then finish up on Tues with the remainder.
Buckingham Palace state rooms summer tours end on October 1st, so plan for that on Saturday or Sunday (timed tickets).
Agree with doing Westminster Abbey and CWR on Monday for the reason stated by previous poster and because WA is closed to tours on Sundays anyway.
Enjoy your visit!!
We are going to Saints football game Sunday afternoon at 2:30
I was going to issue the usual warning about Premier League football matches being subject to last minute schedule changes (assuming you were referring to the English team Southampton, known as Saints) then it occurred to me this might be some kind of American football thing?
Buckingham Palace is only open until 1st October so bear that in mind. You're best to pre-book tickets for that attraction.
Westminster Abbey & Churchill War Rooms are very close to each other and can both be done in the same day. Queues likely at both but get to WA first thing as the queues build later in the day. As others have said, on Sundays it's only open for worship not tourists.
Tower of London - get there first thing on whichever morning you're doing. No need to pre-buy. Takes at least three hours to do it justice. It's in a different part of London - further east than the other attractions.
I was at British museum this summer. They have security cks thAt slow things up alot. Get there early for sure. British library the same
