Help with July 11-day England Itinerary - thanks!

I am currently asking for similar help in the Ireland and Scotland forums and this will be the third part of our trip. We are a family of three including our 5 year old dughter who is a great road-tripper. Our England trip start with us arriving is Keswick driving from Oban that day. Please let me know your thoughts on this itinerary.

Day 1: Arrive in Keswick (stay Keswick)
Day 2: Lake District (stay Keswick)
Day 3: drive to York (stay York)
Day 4: York (stay York)
Day 5: Drive to Warwick Castle and spend day there (drive to Bath that evening)
Day 6: Bath (stay Bath)
Day 7: Stonehenge then drive to London
Day 8-11: London and side trips

I realize Day 5 is 5+ hours of driving so another option is to stay near Warwick Castle that night. That said, I would prefer to wake up in Bath in order to have a full day there. Less time in London is not an option as my wife will be at a conference three of those days.

I see that many of your pt to pt drives are very long distances. UK driving is quite fatiguing imo.
I hope u are comfortable with right hand drive and driving on opposite side. Opt for an automatic transmission. Also
If u have not then consider doing some of your trip by train. Ck www.viamichelin.com for routes, time and miles from a to b.
I will drive no more than 3 hrs in UK and max 4 hours on continental europe, and i am quite tired after that.
Good luck

These are pretty long drives but perfectly doable if you get an early start, especially day 5. Mostly motorways. Good to allow a full day in each place between the drives. I'd call this a little rushed but it should work for you if you don't mind long drives (I don't).

I am not a fan of Warwick Castle. I feel it's a bit Disney-fied - people in costume, silly events. And the castle is not as impressive as others. I would suggest the Shakespeare sites in Stratford-upon-Avon as more interesting and authentic. Either way I would stay locally that night on Day 5. Make an early start for Bath on Day 6.

I have to second the opinion above- and pass on Warwick. Stratford Upon Avon being close by is a better option. Or finding another castle or palace on your route to go to instead.
