Help with Heathrow

Hi! I will be arriving in London before the rest of my family. This is their first time visiting. It is my plan to go and meet them at the airport. They will be arriving in Terminal 3. I was planning to take the tube into the city to where we are staying, and most likely I will take the tube to Heathrow to meet them. My question is does anyone have any good recommendations of meeting spots? I'd like to give them a landmark of where to look for me & me them. I'm just not familiar with this airport. They will have to deplane & go through customs & immigration and then head toward the tube...I guess. Thanks so much for any ideas!

Each terminal has at least one location marked with a sign as a meeting point. Here's a link: Meeting Points

Have a look at the terminal 3 map on the Heathrow website. There is a meeting point located near the area where passengers exit the arrivals hall. It’s located between a counter for We Know London, a travel info group, and a seating area. The meeting points are well signposted. Or you cal hang out in the crowd that will be waiting behind the barrier as you come out of the arrivals hall.

Here's what we've done -- Meet in front of WH Smith bookstore/newspapers by the wide downward ramp that goes to the Tube, Heathrow Express and Heathrow Connect.

After they go through immigration and customs and walk into the main arrivals meeting area, they will see the WH Smith store just next to the wide ramp heading down to rail public transport. You and they can't miss it. It's next to a Boots drug store.

Go to page 5 of this Heathrow PDF Map to see WH Smith on the arrivals map.

I've done this and it's super easy.
