Held luggage at the hotel in London

I will be making a football adventure into England in September. Due to the game time on Monday night at West Ham and my return flight home very early Tuesday morning from Gatwick, I won't be staying in a hotel on Monday night. Rather, I will check out around 10-11am and venture the city until the football match that night. Would most hotels hold luggage until that late in the evening? The game should be over around 10pm, which should allow me the chance to pick up the luggage around 11:30pm-12:00am. Is this too much to ask of a hotel?
On a side note, left luggage at rail stations is most likely not an option since they all close at 11pm, and I feel that I would cut it too close from the time the game ended until I could get back to pick up my luggage. I have also considered training down to Gatwick Monday morning and leaving luggage there. Any and all opinions are welcome. Thanks in advance.
