Heathrow to Stratford on Avon

Attending a wedding in Stratford on Avon & looking for advise/experiences with getting from Heathrow to Stratford on Avon. Will be traveling with at least 3 people (2 are seniors) and thinking of hiring a car/minivan instead of train just because looked like train too complicated and involved several transfers.
Is the price for taking car service reasonable? Any recommendations for reliable car services (have heard of people reserving a car but service company did not come- yikes). Thank you.

The train to Stratford-upon-Avon from Heathrow involves numerous changes via central London.

I have never used them, but people on this forum mention Blackberry Cars. For three people, it may work out cheaper than taking the train.

Please don’t hire a car and try to drive yourself after a long flight.

Take the National Express coach service directly from the airport to somewhere closer to Stratford - Oxford, Bath, etc. Its easy., and no backtracking in the wrong direction. Hiring a car to drive you all the way is an expensive taxi ride.

Jennifer & Stan, thank you for the info. I've been very confused because couldn't find a website that lists all options. Will check out both of your suggestions. Will def NOT try to drive even after looong rest! Thank you, thank you!

Yes, Take the National Express coach service. I think Warwick will get you pretty close and you can taxi from there to Stratford upon Avon. The bus service is comfortable and convenient. The coach station is next to terminal 2/3 at Heathrow. The bus driver will load luggage underneath the coach (Bus) and you can relax in comfortable seats. There is also a bathroom on board.

thank you, another vote for Natl Express. Compiling all the suggestions, will pass on to the other guests traveling from US & 1st time to England....we're all clueless! Looks like bus directly to Warwick (no stops) was about 1 1/2 hrs if I read that correctly (and if strikes are sorted), excellent.
