Heathrow to Premier Inn Blackfriars

i am a senior woman traveling alone to London, later meeting up with a tour. What is the easiest and safest way to get to my hotel. Should I take a cab, an uber, or prearranged transfer. Dont think i can handle the tube. Is there a huge line for cabs in the morning? what should i expect to pay? thanks so much.

If you really don't want to use the train (which is direct from T2 or 3 to Farringdon station, near your hotel) I'd do a pre=arranged transfer with a fixed price. Probably about £90.
The traffic in the morning can be horrendous, and it does nothing for your blood pressure to sit in a traffic jam in a cab with the meter running.

Uber or a cab will cost you around $100 US, maybe less, maybe more. A Car service, likely more. But those would be pretty much door-to-door.

Do not fear public transport, it is easy and reliable. Maybe the least stress free, for you, would be to take the new Elizabeth Line from the airport to Farringdon Station, then catch a cab from there. No need for a ticket, simply use your credit card to tap in and out of the gates.

Any idea which of Heathrow’s Terminals you’ll be arriving at. Will help us offering transport ideas.

For instance I fly Virgin Airlines LAX to LHR. I’ve often stayed near Paddington Station so if I plan early enough I’ll buy a Heathrow Express ticket. Once I’ve passed through immigration I take the long walk to the HEX. 15 minute ride to Paddington station. Exit and take 15 minute stroll to my accommodation. These days with the Elizabeth Line I could board that train into Paddington. I travel with a carry on.

Share which Terminal and posters will share intel.

If you are uncomfortable using public transport by yourself which I can understand especially if you’ve never been there before then book a town car at a fixed price that will meet you at arrivals and take you to your hotel.

Edit: Claudia, aren’t there a bunch of stairs coming up and out of the tube usually?

Thank you, Paul or that info below.

The route planner linked above can be filtered for accessible stations, but the Elizabeth Line (not technically the "Tube") has many new stations (including Farringdon) and all will have elevators and accessibility features.

I would book a car service if you don’t want to take public transportation. A car service will be a fixed price and should be less expensive than getting a black cab from the rank.

Two companies frequently mentioned on this board are Just Airports and Blackberry Cars. If you go to one of their websites, you can get a quote.

all Central London (and Heathrow) Elizabeth Line stations are step free and level access into and off the trains. Escalators are available but so are lifts (elevators) in every one of those stations. No stairs required.

The Thameslink trains which go to Blackfriars from Farringdon are equally step free as is Blackfriars station.
