What is the best transportation from Heathrow to Paddington station? I don’t really want to take the train because I don’t want to deal with luggage. Has anyone used one of the bus services?
The bus ( if there is one to Paddington) is no easier than the train. Probably more trouble, actually. Depending on which terminal you land at, you may have to walk farther to the bus stop or station.. And you may have to lift your luggage onto the bus or coach.
With the trains you just roll your bag on and off.
If you do not want to deal with luggage, you will probably have to take a taxi or arrange a private ride service.
I took the Elizabeth Line but I travel sort of light .
I swear by the Elizabeth Line. It is new, clean, and air conditioned.
If you really don’t want to deal with cases, you can get an Uber or a taxi - both are easy but relatively expensive.
Even with a taxi, you’re going to have to get the luggage to the taxi and from the taxi to your hotel room. Unless you’re lucky enough to find a porter which I don’t see them a lot at Heathrow and are staying at a four star or five star hotel..
The Heathrow Express is very easy and if you buy far enough in advance, it’s not that expensive. I paid 15 pounds from my last trip and you roll your luggage right onto it. There’s lots of room to roll it off and no hassle at all. I would seriously consider that over spending a lot of money to sit in traffic.
If you conclude you would rather not use train or bus you might look into car service like justairports.com often recommended here. They track your arriving flight and meet you in terminal. You can check price and reserve on line.
We are thinking of taking the Heathrow Express to Paddington. Are there taxis at the Paddington station that we can get to take us to our hotel. It's about a 14 minute walk and although I would love to say we pack light, we don't!

The Elizabeth line is about as quick and much cheaper, plus if planning on using contactless for transport while in London, the fare goes toward your daily cap that first day.
Yes, there are plenty of taxis outside Paddington Station.

Depending on where your hotel is there might be better options than going to Paddington.
The Paddington Station taxi rank is situated above platform 12. There are lifts and escalators. As well as normal signage there is a line on the floor directing you.
I suggest you watch this You Tube video and then decide what is best for you.
