Staying overnight 1 day prior to start of tour in Bath. Any experiences getting to and from Heathrow to Marriott Courtyard Heathrow (2miles). We plan to take the National Express from Heathrow to Bath. Any experiences with that as well? TIA.

The Courtyard is on Bath Road which is where a number of airport hotels are located and thus served by regular buses from the airport. There are four buses you can tak from Heathrow Central Bus Station with one leaving roughly every five minutes. It's a short journey of less than 10 minutes and the hotel is a short walk from the bus stop.
I can't offer any advice on the National Express as I've never used it.

You might come across here or elsewhere some old advice that this bus would be free but this is not the case at the moment. So you would need either a contactless form of payment (card/phone) or an Oyster card to pay the £1.65 bus fare.
The stop name is Harlington Corner. Buses back to Heathrow are the other side of the Bath Road.
If you are arriving at Terminal 5 you will need to take the Underground to Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3 first for the Central Bus Station. This will still be free but you need a payment method to open the gates even though you won't be charged.
