Heathrow to Lime Tree Hotel

We (2 seniors) will be arriving at Heathrow on a Delta flight on Monday, Sept 17th around 10am. Since we are staying at the Lime Tree Hotel, I am thinking taking the National Express Bus to Victoria Coach Station makes the most sense.
Buy tickets in advance or can it be done almost as economically that day? Any other suggestions/advice?
Thank you in advance.

The tube works as well but it does involve a change that is basically a walk across the platform. I don't think there is any discount for buying coach in advance so buy when you land.

The National Express Bus to Victoria Coach Station is your most convenient option for the Lime Tree. The Victoria Coach Station is on the same block at the Lime Tree. Victoria Train and Tube Station is more of a walk (<10 min to Victoria Tube Station) I think the price is reasonably similar in advance or day of. Enjoy the Lime Tree!

Also arriving at LHR on Monday (that is the 18th not the 17th) though a tad earlier. And, to boot, also staying at the Lime Tree.
I chose to take Heathrow Express to Paddington; got a fare of $25 GBP for 3. Reason being to then go to the visitor center at Paddington for our Oyster cards and use the cash machines. Idea is to use up some time as the hotel check-in is after 2 PM. They are more likely to have availability closure to noonish than way earlier.
Then a quick cab ride to the hotel - about 15 GBP.

Yes, bus is cheaper!

If your hotel is close to Victoria Coach station, the easiest thing to do is to take the bus. What I liked about it is that I just handed my suitcase over to the bus driver who put it under the bus. Once you get to the bus station, they get the suitcases out for you. Riding the tube is cheaper but that entails hanging on to your suitcase to make sure it doesn’t fall over or hit someone. I’ve taken the tube several times on previous trips as I pick locations off the Picadilly line. This time, I stayed at Cherry Court Hotel 3 weeks ago and took the bus and it was the best idea as it’s a 5 minute walk from the Coach station. . I just bought my ticket when I arrived. I tried the machine first but my card didn’t work so I went to the manned desk which moved a little slowly but my card worked perfectly.

I replied on the other thread but I take the coach for the Lime Tree because it’s more convenient not because it’s less expensive. You can also walk over to Victoria Station to purchase your Oyster card.

The Lime Tree is excellent about holding your bags. We were tired so we dropped off the bags, went around the corner to pick up sandwiches and drinks for lunch and went back to enjoy them in the garden at Lime Tree as it was a lovely day.

I agree with the others that taking the bus to the Victoria Coach station is your best bet. The Victoria tube station is a longer walk. That's probably the tube station you will take when the two of you venture out on your own, but since you will have luggage when you get into London, taking the bus to the closest stop which is the coach station is best for you. Enjoy London, it is one of my favorite cities and I've stayed in a few B&B's recommended by Rick in the same neighborhood as the Lime Tree Hotel. It is a very nice neighborhood in Belgravia.
