Suggestions on how to get from Heathrow to Kensington?
The Tube probably but it depends where exactly you are going.
We bought tickets for the Heathrow Express far in advance, so they were inexpensive and could be used anytime on our day of arrival. We took the Heathrow Express from the airport to Paddington Station, and then took a taxi from the official ranks at Paddington to our hotel. It went very smoothly.
Kensington is a big area. Some hotels label themselves "Kensington" because it sounds nice but they aren't really in Kensington.
So, if you could tell us exactly where you are going, we can help.
The days of very cheap advance Heathrow Express tickets are as far as I know over. You used to be able to get a single ticket for £5.50 but I think the best you can hope for now is £15. That's still more than the Elizabeth Line.
And. of course, there are many places in Kensington for which Paddington is very much the wrong place to head to.
We always stay at a hotel in South Kensington near the Gloucester Rd. tube stop and take the Piccadilly line. Depending on your hotel, that line might not be the best option.
