Heathrow to Earl's court tube station on Oyster card?

We are staying in London in mid October after a few weeks around England. We will drop the car in Heathrow and hope to take the tube to our hotel (near Earl's Court) I just bought an oyster card. Can I use it on the train from the airport. I see there is an express train, and assume there are also regular underground trains...According to the map, it appears that the Piccadilly Line will take me right to Earl's Court. Am I right?

You can't use it on the Heathrow Express - but as you have realised, you don't want to use it anyway.

Piccadilly line to Earl's Court is a zone 6 to zone 2 fare, so £2.70 at peak times or £1.50 otherwise as pay as you go.

Yes, Janet you can use your Oyster card on the Piccadilly Line to Earls Court. The fare would be £2.70 during peak time, £1.50 off-peak. You cannot use the Oyster card on the Heathrow Express.

My husband and I will again be staying in that area ourselves the beginning of October. A lot of good restaurants nearby, and we've always felt very safe, even walking late at night.

Guess Marco and I were posting at the same time!
