Heathrow to Coventry or Birmingham

I will be traveling to Coventry from the U.S. east coast for business in March. A direct flight to Heathrow saves me anywhere from $900-1200 and as much as 12 hours of travel over flying directly to Birmingham.

However, I am having trouble figuring out the best way to get to Coventry. I will be renting a car once in Coventry. What is the easiest method of travel from the airport with luggage?

There appear to be some National Express coaches that go from Heathrow to Coventry Pool Meadow Coach station if one works for your arrival time. The National Express coaches are pretty good...nothing like taking a bus in the US which I would never do! The driver will stow your bag under the bus and get it for you when you arrive.

Go to this website to check the times.

After being in a long flight ,think train would be my preference.
There's many various ways into Central London to get to Euston mainline station for a train to Coventry.

The Underground.
The Elizabeth line might be a better choice ,exit at Tottenham Court Road and swap to Underground up to Euston

Advance ( restrictions) fares from Euston can be as low as £7.50.
Off peak tickets from £16, just checked for tomorrow.
A few and avoidable services can be £40.
nationalrail is the default search .

If there is a coach at a convenient time, it would be much less hassle than travelling into London and out again by train.
