Heathrow to Covent Garden

Hello. We are going to be first time travelers to London soon. The options for transfer from the airport are a bit confusing. For those of you in the know, what is the safest, quickest, and most cost-effective way for four people, and their luggage of course, to get from Heathrow to Covent Garden? Does the tube run from Heathrow to Covent Garden? Would a taxi or Uber be a better choice?

Thanks

It will cost more but since you have luggage and the Tube can get really crowded and there are 4 people take UBER and split the cost 4 ways.

From Heathrow to Covent Garden on the Piccadilly Line is a 43 minute trip according to TFL, but it probably depends on the time of day. After leaving Heathrow it will be the 21st stop.

This is a duplicate of a similarly named alternate thread. My answer over there.

I'm going to agree with Emma. 39 minutes? It's usually about 35 to Earl's Court. And then another 12-15 minutes to Covent Garden

And that's IF there are no delays.

How much luggage will you have with you? If you have more than one carry on size bag and a small back pack each I would think it might be a big hassle to take the tube. But if you only had one bag each the tube should be the cheapest and quickest. And since the tube starts at Heathrow you should have no problem getting a seat for this trip.
However a taxi or car service taking you and all of your luggage directly to your hotel after an all night plane ride would probably be the least stressful. To heck with what it might cost. IMO
Choose which ever way makes the most sense to you.

Depending on what hotel you're staying at, the Covent Garden tube stop may not be the one you want.. For example, the Hub Hotel Covent Garden is close to Leicester Square tube stop

We found travel into Central London easy and efficient on the Tube from Heathrow. I do think that when traveling anywhere in Europe, it is much easier to travel light - we each take a carry on bag so have no trouble getting from the Tube to our hotel.

I'd take the tube. It is amazingly easy. We did it last year and the year before, both times staying near Covent Garden. As others have said, do check the tube stop. Your hotel may be closer to the Holborn tube stop, for example.

That said, the tube is VERY easy to central London, cheaper than a cab or Uber, and while not lightning fast, is usually under an hour.
