Heathrow to Club Quarters hotel in London City

What is the best way to get to our hotel from Heathrow? Thinking the Heathrow Express to Paddington Station and then cab to the hotel. Does this make sense?

Is it the one at 7 Gracechurch St?

Paddington is still a bit of a cab ride there. With traffic it may take some time and be expensive. TFL journey planner suggests taking the express and transferring to the Elizabeth line to Liverpool St station which is about half a mile from the hotel. Another option is Elizabeth line from Heathrow to Liverpool St station. At this time it still requires changing trains at Paddington.

If traveling solo I would probably take one of the rail options and get a cab from Liverpool St. station.. Do note that the express is fairly cheap if you book at least 90 days in advance. You can take any express train on that day in that direction.

If it’s the one on Gracechurch and if it was me, I ‘d take the Piccadilly line from the airport and switch to either the District or Circle lines at either Gloucester Road or South Kensington. Then get off at the Monument stop. The hotel is .2 miles from Monument station. From the airport it’s probably a little less than a 1.5 hours journey.

If you are arriving after flying all night from the US, then a major consideration has to be getting there efficiently without too much stress on your part.

If you buy Heathrow Express far in advance then it is 11 pounds for two people one way. If you buy it at the station it will be closer to 50 pounds for two.

I’m just guessing 25 pounds for the cab to the hotel, so between 36 pounds to 75 pounds for the Heathrow Express/taxi combo. It does get you to the door of your hotel…

I would have to wonder at that point about just taking a private transfer company in from the airport. I’m not sure of the cost for this but I know other forum members will know.

Are you up for doing it all on subway and finished by walking? This would be the lowest cost option, but might require a higher level of energy and alertness.

Think about what your needs are, or what you think they will be, on arrival. Don’t hesitate to choose the option you feel meets your needs.
