Heathrow to Chipping Campden

Flying into Heathrow early morning August and wanting to get to Chipping Campden to start our Cotswold Way walk.

When I look into Uber cost for two of us (obviously one car), it seems to be the same price as combined train and bus tickets to get to Chipping Campden.

Is there something I am missing? I'd rather take Uber for convenience , but would rather save money if there is some other way I am not seeing. Suggestions? Advice?

Heathrow Express/Elizabeth line £15

Paddington to Moreton in Marsh £14

Moreton in Marsh to Chipping Campden £3

For two people about £66.

Uber is £150 at the moment but prices will vary on demand.

As long as you book the Paddington to Moreton in Marsh leg in advance it's much cheaper to get public transport

The problem is that you aren't going to get the £14 Paddington to Moreton in Marsh fare unless you want to be sat around waiting for the train or you miss the booked one.
It'll be the walk up fare.
That is probably cheaper to go contactless on the Elizabeth Line to Reading £17.90 off peak, £24 peak (or the cheaper rail air coach) then Reading to HiM walk up fare of £22 off peak day single.

Suggestion:
Express bus from Heathrow to Oxford (very frequent)
Train Oxford to Moreton in Marsh (again, very frequent)
Local bus or taxi from MIM to Chipping Campden. Buses aren't quite so reliable so you might prefer a taxi for the short trip.
I don't have prices for these but have done this before and all legs are inexpensive.
