Heathrow to Cambridge , is there a direct train from the airport?

Greetings !
My wife and I will be traveling from Heathrow airport to Cambridge by train on our arrival from the US.
I was wondering is there a direct train ride from Heathrow terminal 5 to Cambridge we can take? If not what would de our best train station in London for a direct train to Cambridge ? Kings crossing ? No doubt we will be suffering from a bit of jet lag and would like to avoid to many transfers to different trains/ or stations

Thanks for your input

There is no direct train. There is a direct National Express coach leaving more or less hourly around five minutes past the hour from Heathrow Central Bus Station.

As Marco said, there's no direct train. Options via rail (vs coach) involve at least one change. See the National Rail journey planner online to explore your options: https://ojp.nationalrail.co.uk/service/planjourney/search

You can take the Tube (Underground) from Heathrow to Kings Cross/St. Pancras Underground Station, then make your way to the Kings Cross Rail Station, where you catch a train to Cambridge. That's apparently the most direct option involving rail.

Edited to add: From a quick look at the National Express (coach) website, the direct coach strikes me as the preferred mode. Especially if I'm just off a long flight. Just board the coach (they stow the luggage below), sit down, and ride directly to Cambridge.

(Apologies if you know this, but "coach" is the UK term for an intercity (or over-the-road) bus. "Bus" is the vehicle running routes around town. I had that distinction somewhat hammered into my head long ago on a tour of Australia with a Brit-born tour guide, lol.)

The coach is definitely the way to go. The same applies to get from Heathrow to Oxford by the way (despite the fact that you don't need to cross London by Tube if you choose the train).

If you wind up choosing the train combination and avoid the possible delays the coach will run into, especially considering it will be using the M25, and considering the awful traffic around Cambridge surrounding all the rebuilding of the A14 which radiates well beyond the A14, it is worth knowing that the Thameslink trains from St Pancras International get to Cambridge in about the same amount of time as the Great Northern trains take from Kings Cross. They alternate so use the app or website beforehand to plan. The Heathrow to Kings Cross/St Pancras tube station is easy. Takes about an hour and there is the possibility of step free access at both ends. The actual train from either Kings Cross or St Pancras International to Cambridge station takes just about an hour. So two hours plus connection time.

How long does the coach say they take?

The coaches have a booked time of 2 hours 20 minutes (via Stansted Airport and only one other stop) or 2 hours 55 minutes (via Luton Airport and a few other stops) in alternate hours.
