Heathrow Terminal 3 basement level walkways

I will be arriving at Heathrow Terminal 3. I know the pros and cons about pricing/timing/luggage/accessibility issues/etc. among the various transportation options between the airport and the heart of London.

Here's what I am wanting to know:

After arriving at the bottom of the stairs on the basement level in Terminal 3, do the walkways branch off with one going to the Tube/Underground station and a different walkway going to the Heathrow Express platforms?

When walking to the Heathrow Express platforms, do you pass a ticket counter and/or ticket machine where you can top up an Oyster card?

Thanks in advance for any help on this topic.

Hey, thanks! From the looks of those videos, I will not cross paths with a Oyster Machine if I go immediately to the Heathrow Express platforms.

Its something like 21 pounds (on line ) 26.5 on board for a single on the express,
much cheaper but a longer ride on the tube

There are various ways to reduce the cost down to something more like £12.50. Whether that makes it more worth it is a matter of opinion.

The poster has not given where her final destination is.

Waterloo station is my destination (catch the Bakerloo line at Paddington direction Elephant & Castle).

The Heathrow Express ticket has already been given to me so I will use it (unless the tube would be much faster). From the calculations I've done, the tube would not save me a lot of time, but if anyone thinks it would, please let me know. I guess I could waste the Heathrow express ticket.

I have an active Oyster Card already. I just need to top it up. I was wondering if I would pass a machine at the airport or if I will need to do the top up at Paddington Station.

It sounds like your plan is just as fast as the Piccadilly Line with a transfer to the Bakerloo Line at Piccadilly Circus, or the Jubilee Line at Green Park (don't follow the signs if you choose that one) or Northern Line at Leicester Square, all of which call at Waterloo.

And if there is a ticket for the Heathrow Express going begging, use it.

Top up the Oyster as you walk through Paddington Station. Easy. Harder at Heathrow.
