Heathrow Term 3 to Bath by Train

I fly into Heathrow Terminal 3 Sat July 19. 7:00am

Do I need to book train tickets ahead of time or can I get them when we get there? Do the price change as we get closer?

What's the cheapest place to buy? I see Trainline (posts) I downloaded TrainPal App.

Thanks
Rich

My suggestion is your do a search of this forum. This topic has been discussed more times than I can remember.

There are many ways to go....bus, bus/rail, train/train. (There are no direct trains from Heathrow to Bath.)

The only thing I will say is buy direct. Why buy through a third party?

I tried ordering a railcard from a 3rd party that offered 5 pounds off, but their system didn't know how to process a US Passport to verify my age. Waist an hours before a service rep told me they can't (don't know how to) process a US passport. So I went direct and was done in 15 min.

Don't use a third party like Trainline - they will just add commission - buy direct. You can buy tickets from any of the rail operating companies for any of the services, but the National Rail site is a good place to start as it's the official site that will then direct you to the train operator.

Never heard of Train Pal.

I'd suggest taking a National Express coach service. If you take the train you will need to go into London first, change for a service to Bath.
