We would like to visit Hampton Court on a Thursday in early October from LHR T5 (staying at the Sofitel). We will be jet lagged, so looking for some suggestion as to the easiest way to get there without going into central London. Thank you.

Easy yes. not a clue about price - I personally only take a taxi if somebody else is paying.

Thanks, Nigel & Emma. I will simply look for a taxi stand at the airport/hotel then. I wanted to make sure I don't have to book one ahead of time.

if you have £ from 2017 do make sure they are the new plastic £5 and £10s and two tone £1 coins not the old ones that aren't accepted any more.

Old pound notes can be exchanged with no difficulties at the Bank of England if you find yourselves with several in your possession.

I only have the new £1 coins, £5 and £10 notes. I need to spend £20 notes as new ones are coming out next year.
