The Points Guy ran a story (title above) on October 3 about a new trial program allowing Terminal 3 passengers to prebook security line times. Officials are trying to decrease wait times and if the trial is successful, they may expand it to other terminals. It’s called Heathrow Timeslot and it’s on Heathrow.com under airport services.
Good to know. Thank you.
I saw this when I departed T3 yesterday. I didn't really know what it was.
You used to he able to pay for Fast Track security but that has been discontinued. I wonder if this is meant to replace it.
Wow - thanks! This kind of tip is exactly why I love this site! I’ll be booking this for our flight home in a couple of weeks!
We have a similar program at the Seattle Airport called "Spot Saver." It has worked very well and I am glad to see Heathrow giving it a try.
Sounds like a good idea but we flew out of Heathrow last Sunday (Oct.1) and had no wait in security. We checked in with the airline to check bags on our return home and zipped through security. The info is helpful but not sure it would make a lot of difference. Planes were leaving on time.
Maybe I’ve been lucky, but I don’t think I have ever spent more than 20 minutes in a security queue at LHR.
Immigration used the long wait, but the opening of the e-gates to U. S. citizens seems to have solved that.
We were the only people going through the E-gates in May at Heathrow. We were surprised but it was around 6:30am.
