Heathrow: Has opening of new T2 reduced delays in T1?

I've read many comments on the forum about delays in Passport Control and Customs for arriving passengers at LHR. Some of those comments, though, are several years old. Has the recent opening of the new Terminal 2 reduced delays in Terminal 1?

Just noticed this. 'Big' delays at immigration happen from time to time, usually as a result of staff action or shortage. The last time there was a prolonged period of slow immigration was spring 2012.

Thanks, Marco.

I was just wondering, since my wife and her sister arrive there next week (Friday 8 Aug.). They have a tight (110 minute) connection to a National Express bus to Bath for their RS tour. No calamity if they miss it, though -- it's just that the later bus takes much longer over a less-direct route, and I'm sure they'll already be tired.

It is hard to say, but under normal circumstances that should be enough.

Turns out there was no cause for concern. They made it from their arriving Air New Zealand flight to their scheduled National Express coach with plenty of time to spare.

One thing that people may have been reading about are the huge recent delays at Gatwick.

That has been because of many hours waiting for baggage handling, with many people not getting their bags for many hours or days.

Additional people have been hired but if that made any difference I don't know....
