You smart people probably already knew this, but the fabulous £5.50 advance ticket price (up to 90 days in advance) for the Heathrow Express is no longer available. Kids 15 and under still go free, but the advance tickets are £16.50. 🙁
The reality is that the Elizabeth line’s cheaper prices and much greater flexibility mean that the HEX is very rarely the sensible choice in my view thes3 days and certainly if the very cheap advance fares are no longer available.
yes, i think you have to weight the convenience/flight times etc. and decide if it’s worth it. I think for our trip, we’ll probably still do the HEX heading back to the US because we already have to leave our hotel very early on departure day and the fastest way to Heathrow is looking like the best bet. Coming into the UK, however, it seems like the Elizabeth line makes WAY more sense!
Don't forget that if you have any kind of UK national railcard the £16.50 becomes £10.90.
Well, well. For once my ridiculously early advance planning has paid off. I have three 5.50 pound tickets for the Heathrow Express on June 7th that I purchased in October.....
isn@31c, that's right! I'll have a friends and family rail card, so that discount will come in handy. Thanks for the reminder!!
