I Would welcome information on health insurance for travel to the U.K. How much should it cost? What companies are best?
The price varies by age bracket. For a fifty something like myself I expect to pay about $25 for a weeks coverage that includes medical & evacuation coverage.
I have been using Berkshire Hathaway, for my a few years now:
Thanks for the info. We’re mid ‘60’s so I expect it will be a tad more expensive
I always purchase health insurance and medical evacuation insurance when we travel overseas. Even though our health insurance covers us overseas, many places make you pay upfront. Also, health insurance for travelers is not expensive. One recent trip we were gone about 3.5 weeks and it cost for myself and wife a total of $55 using American Express.
There are several recent threads on this forum discussing the pros and cons of different insurance companies. As a starting point, use InsureMyTrip.com or SquareMouth.com to compare different plan costs and coverages. Read the fine print about coverages carefully. I highly recommend repatriation and evacuation insurance in addition to medical.
A tip I got here that proved useful: if you have any questions about insurance that you can't figure out from a website, you can call Insure My Trip at 800-487-4722, and speak directly to an agent.

Wow, that's expensive! What would an annual multi trip policy cost?
