Have you seen this film clip made by the Downton Abbey cast for charity?

George Clooney's surprise appearance gives Downton Abbey fans a Christmas treat.
Downton Abbey did its bit for ITV's Text Santa charity Christmas appeal in a special mini episode, starring Joanna Lumley. In the 9 minute sketch Lord Robert Crawley (Hugh Bonneville) seems to be facing financial ruin once again and begins to wonder if his family may be better off without him. But divine intervention in the form of a very special heavenly body (Joanna Lumley) gives him a view of what life would really be like without his guiding spirit.

George Clooney also makes a guest appearance in the special as George Oceans Gravity, Marquis of Hollywood. (Lord Hollywood).

Shown on TV in the UK, the special sketch was in aid of ITV’s annual charity appeal Text Santa which aims to raise funds for the work of six UK based charities. This year’s charities are Teenage Cancer Trust, Guide Dogs, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Alzheimer’s Society, WellChild and Together for Short Lives.

If you are a Downton Abbey fan, you'll enjoy this short spoof. Well done! And hilarious!

When the first clip ends (it says to be continued), just wait a few seconds, and part 2 will begin. It's the best part:

Then again, http://tinyurl.com/ksyd2jj

Wonder if I'll see her at Gelsons? (overpriced supermarket catty corner from the Scientology Manor on Franklin. It's where we Hollywood Hills folk shop)

Happy 2015 everyone!

Peace, prosperity and pints!!!

You're welcome! Just had to share that with you guys! I especially like the part where Thomas Barrow is stealing the silver service and hiding behind the curtain! Let's hope he gets what he deserves in the upcoming season!

Also love the appearance of Mr. Selfridge (actor Jeremy Piven). He's adorable!

Happy New Year everyone!

Thank you so much for that link, Rebecca! I'd only seen little clips of it before and loved seeing the whole thing. I'm so looking forward to Sunday! I keep hoping Thomas B. will do something to redeem himself somewhere down the line. I can't help but like him...a little.

You're welcome! Only 24 hours to go! I've got real English tea, and scones from the local bakery. Will make some tiny finger sandwiches (chicken salad-no cucumbers) about an hour before show time!

This popped onto my Facebook page and I subsequently shared it. I can't wait to see Violet and Isobel engage in their "calling a spade a spade" repartee!

Emma, thanks for that advice! American style scones, I'm afraid.

Kay, I am waiting to see which of her two suitors Lady Mary will choose! Three minutes until show time!
