My husband and I are considering storing our backpacks with the Left Luggage service at Kings Cross station.
Has anyone ever used this service?
Thanks,

I never have done, but it is run by the same Excess Baggage gang that run the left luggage at Euston and other major stations.
They have a good reputation - certainly among us railway types - and give a proper receipt after the x-ray treatment of the bags. I'd allow a bit of time as they usually only have one person working there. It is better if you can consolidate your bags as you pay per piece.
Hi Nigel,
Thank you very much for letting me know that they have a good reputation!!
I was a little nervous about using them, but now I feel like it is an OK thing to do.
Thanks again,
Virginia

We've used their facilities at Waterloo and Victoria Stn...never had an issue...I just make sure anything of value (which isn't much) is inside the bag and not in the front zipper...they do charge per bag, so even if you have a small under the airplane seat type bag that you want to leave behind, that will be charged as well (another reason to travel light!)
They quite often run the lost and found office at the main stations as well.
Hi Nicole and Marco,
Thank both of you for further reassuring me that this service is OK to use!!
Yes, my husband and I like to pack LIGHT when traveling overseas. Having only 1 backpack to carry about is so liberating!!! And makes life so much more fun!!
I really appreciate your reassurances.

There is also a left luggage service at St. Pancras, which is just across the street.
We left out bags there in 2010 so we could visit the British Library before catching the train to York. No problems, except they were concerned about the faint tick from my old-fashioned travel alarm clock. :)
