I just found a place in Fulham near Chelsea Football Stadium and I am not familiar with the London set up. I want to make sure it will not be too expensive travel cost or far from the sights for the girls to visit. I am bringing eight Girl Scouts to London on a budget.

You are in zone 2 (assuming that "near Chelsea F.C." means near and on same side of river), so cost won't be a big issue assuming you are taking tube and bus everywhere. I'd check on a map (e.g., googlemaps) to see how far a walk it is to the nearest tube station. I'm assuming you will be near Fullham Broadway which is on a branch of the District line and getting to most sights in London will involve a transfer.

As well as the underground the Walham Green area has two great bus routes the 11 and the 14 which go to and through a number of central sights.
