Has anyone stayed @ Aerotel London Heathrow

Eighty-year-old female solo traveler leaving Oxford late on a Saturday morning, plane leaves around noon on Sunday. Looking to stay at the Aerotel London Heathrow since it is "right there". Can you walk around landside at Heathrow? Ideas/suggestion more than welcomed. Thank you.

We stayed there January 2022. It is landslide in terminal 3 arrivals hall. I believe there was a M&S where we bought food. At that time we had to get tested for covid before our morning flight which we did at terminal 2, I believe, so you are able to walk around a large area. No doubt there are restaurants but I don't remember. Very convenient, small room, but comfortable.

I stayed there once a while ago. Yes, the room is small so everything is close at hand. But check their rates: you may find that for the number of hours you need it could add up to as much or even more than a conventional hotel room, where you would be able to leave your luggage while you explore landside. The Hilton Garden Inn at T2 is the alternative I've chosen in similar circumstances.

I have never stayed at the Aerotel but I have stayed a few times at the Hilton Garden Inn at T2. The walk, via underground walkway, between terminals takes 5-10 minutes and there are moving sidewalks.

The Hilton has a restaurant. Other than that, there isn't much to do or see at Heathrow as you really can't walk around outside.

The other food options before security are small shops with takeaway sandwiches and salads.

Judy, sorry I was confusing the Aerotel with the Yotel. I have stayed at the latter but not the former, so my remarks about hourly rates are probably off-beam.

The Yotel Heathrow no longer exists. It has gone to meet its maker.

I have no experience with the Aerotel but have stayed multiple times at the Premier Inn T4. It's a bit of a walk from the terminal, but you're in an enclosed walkway the entire way. This is usually (I'm tempted to write "always") the least expensive hotel on the airport, and it's a perfectly nice Premier Inn.

The Aerotel is not quite what the Yotel was but the rooms are quite small, and pricing is offered by the hour; think 6 is the minimum. Always seems expensive to me for what it is.

Just be warned @Judy. There are two Hilton Garden Inns at Heathrow: you want the 4* one called Terminals T2 &3. The other (older) one is further away.

The Hilton Garden Inn entrance is located in the T2 car park. (Parking garage.) No signs until you get to the car park.

From T3, follow signs to T2. Coming out of customs, you will go down a ramp (all indoors) to the tunnel that will take you to T2. It's a short walk.

The "other" HGI is close to Hatton Cross tube station which has free travel to all Heathrow terminals in a matter of minutes. Usually quite a bit cheaper but if being right at the airport is the most important thing it wouldn't be for you.
