I will be in England soon and am considering going to this newly-opened museum with Henry VIII ship and exhibits. I was there a few years ago when the ship was in the drying out process. The website allows ticket purchase for specific days and all of August is still available. Have you seen it yet?

You probably know this already...the newly updated museum just opened 7/20/16...per reviews on TripAdvisor, people seem very pleased by the changes.

Hi Swan, I was just in Portsmouth last November and the Mary Rose was closed for renovation. It has now been reopened just this month and looks in fabulous shape:

I was fortunate to see it in 1996 when all the piping was surrounding the ship in order to spray it with preservatives. Now the piping is gone and you can see the ship up close. Hope you are able to make it to Portsmouth, let us know what you think of the Mary Rose if you are able to view it!
