While I was scouting the area around Hampton Court on Google Maps for an upcoming trip, I spotted a site next to the entrance that said Royal School of Needlework. Since my wife has done some pretty amazing needlework pieces in the past, I checked it out at http://www.royal-needlework.org.uk/ and noticed that it opens at 9 a.m., an hour earlier than Hampton Court. Then when I checked the train schedule to Hampton Court from Victoria, I found the earlier train that gets there at 8:48 a.m. costs half as much at the one an hour later! A twofer!
I have looked at this website before but couldn't actually tell what there is to see there...except the shop, lol!! I hope you will come back with a report on what you find there. There are some very cool needlework kits in UK. I was drooling over a cross stitch one I saw in a shop window in York but new it would add too much weight to my suitcase, lol.
