Looking for a guided tour of about 10 days in length. Can do 10 mile/day walking but not interested in 15 mile/days. Emphasis on archeological sites - why I prefer a guided tour. Any recommendations?
We have a day tour in early July booked with:
https://www.curiuscompass.com/
I have not used them yet, but the dealings I have had with them to schedule our trip have been nothing but positive. They might work for you.
The full trail is 84 miles so if you do about 10 miles/day you can finish in 8 days. If you're mostly interested in the archeological sites you can consider starting a bit east of Carlisle since you don't see much of the wall till around Lanercost (walking east).
I would encourage you to contact to Peter Carney, https:/www.hadrianswall-walk.com
He is an amazing expert. I used him for day tours. If he doesn’t provide what you want himself, you can count on him to steer you to a reputable guide or company that does.
Are you wanting a company to book accommodation, transfer your baggage between overnight stays, take you to and from the trail head as well as do the walk with you and talk about the different sites? If you are wanting a guide for the whole trip that could work out very expensive...
If you do a google search there are several companies that offer guided tours although most seem to be about 7 days. Check out Holliday Fellowship which gets good reviews from people who have been on their holidays.
Mickledore and Ramble Worldwide offer a booking service but you may not get a guide along with you...
There's lots of information on the web about the Hadrian's Wall Footpath. as well as the different Roman sites along the wall.
There are also plenty of guide books describing the walk. Cicerone Hadrian's Wall Path is recommended as it includes a separate 1:25,000 OS map booklet covering the entire route and provides clear directions for walking in either direction. Alternatively there is Trailblazer Hadrian's Wall Path which has detailed large-scale hand-drawn maps that are easy to follow without a separate map.
