For the benefit of those of us unfamiliar with rail strikes, what are ASLEF and RMT? Have dates been announced for these strikes?

Thanks.

ASLEF = Associated Society of Locomotive Engineers and Firemen. In more modern language the union primarily for drivers.
RMT = National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers. So sort of the general union for rail workers. A few are drivers but much less than ASLEF.

So the strikes have different effects as to how much cover and where could be provided by management etc.
