Guy Fawkes Day

Has anyone attended a Guy Fawkes Day / Bonfire Night in or near London? I might be in town in early November and would like to participate (I attend the Seattle Brits Expat meetup group Guy Fawkes event on a irregular basis). I am interested in a spectacular celebration that includes both bonfires and fireworks show, and would be willing to take a train out of London to attend an event in the countryside. There are several celebrations in London; which one is the best from the standpoint of fires and fireworks?

Thanks for your input.

The fireworks during GF aren't like the ones you would see at a 4th of July/New Years eve celebration. Instead it's a random launching of a single rocket from different directions during the course of the night. I've been in London twice during this holiday, the Time Out weekly magazine has a complete listing of all the GF activities do in the city. I simply picked out a couple of bonfires near my hotels and attend those.
