Guernsey

Interested in thoughts on how to get to (from France or England )Guernsey, and what to visit . Without a car, but very light packer.

Thanks!

Guernsey is much closer to France than to England. You can take a ferry from St. Malo - takes about 2 hours. I think it runs just 3-4 times per week. There are some forts on the island as well as a castle and manor home that can be visited. Otherwise it's just a lovely, windswept island that is mostly rural and beautiful. Nice place to spend a few relaxing days!

Condor is the main ferry operator from the UK.http://www.condorferries.co.uk

You can also fly from several UK airports. To find flights, try www.skyscanner.co.uk and do it in reverse = FROM Guernsey TO UK and select your month and tick WHOLE MONTH. This should show you who flies where & when with an idea of prices.

When I went to Guernsey, I also took day trips on local ferries to Herm & Sark.
