We plan to spend the day in Greenwich in August. Four of the sites now require tickets with three having timed tickets. How much time should we plan to spend at each of the four major sites,: Cutty Sark, Royal Observatory, Naval Museum and the Maritime Museum., allowing time to have a light lunch. Suggested order to visit would also be appreciated.
Are you sure about the timed tickets? I was in Greenwich 2 weeks ago and they weren’t required then.
Our experience was the same as Carol's. We were there 3 weeks ago, saw all sites except Cutty Sark, bought tickets on arrival. I would start with the Cutty Sark, then the Observatory (it's a hike up a steep hill), then the Naval Museum, end with the Maritime Museum. We spent about an hour at the Royal Observatory, less time at the other two. We took the Thames River Cruise from Westminster Pier, then took the tube back. Highly recommend the cruise which takes about an hour depending on the tides.
We've been in England for three weeks. Many sights are still advertising timed tickets, but the reality has been walk up tickets are readily available. It may be different in August when crowds are larger.
