Has anyone visited Grantchester Village? We are considering walking there during a day trip to Cambridge, which we've read is possible. Any thoughts would be appreciated!
Been to Cambridge but not Grantchester, so no advice there, but this is a nice article:

Thanks Rachel, that's a wonderful article!
Yes, thank you Rachel, great article. Now I want to go there! Renting bikes would be a very fun way to visit. Love the show Grantchester.
Grantchester is a little over four makes from Cambridge, so walking there is very doable. Have fun!!
Ooh, I like that Robson Green.
Consider taking a short train ride to Ely to see the cathedral.http://www.elycathedral.org/visit

The walk by the river is pleasant but dull, it's basically through some meadows. It is all flat though.
If you have time to kill it's a nice way to spend a sunny Sunday, walk down and have a pint at the Green Man or a scone on the Orchard. If you only have a few days in the area the are much better ways to spend a day.
It is perfectly possible, though the walk would take up a reasonable chunk of your day trip.
In good weather, it is very pleasant to walk through Newnham and Grantchester Meadows (alongside the River Cam) to Grantchester. Once there, you have the choice of several pubs or The Orchard for lunch. The church is quite nice too, though not, I think, any more interesting than the old churches in central Cambridge.
