Goodenough College to Stansted

I’m trying to get to Venice from London. What carriers fly to Venice other than Ryanair? Also, where can I board the National Express Bus? Is there only one location and how do I get from the Goodenough Campus to the bus that takes me to Stansted? Thank you for your advice!!!

Try Skyscanner for your flight options.

Taking the train to Stansted from Liverpool Street is far more reliable than the bus. It would help if you stated where the college is - I have had to google it - Bloomsbury. Walk to Kings Cross St Pancras and take the Circle or Metropolitan line to Liverpool Street.

Are you sure that Ryan Air - money squeezing abomination that it is - spends the money to fly into Marco Polo Airport near Venice? I always thought the cheeseparing tightwads only flew into Treviso which is somewhat less iconic and considerably less convenient, requiring their bus to reach Venice. It is worth checking carefully.

Plenty of airlines make the trip from one of the seven (if you count Birmingham) easily accessible airports from London. Of the top of my head, Alitalia, Easyjet, BA, Air France all have flights.

Apparently Ryanair is switching its Venice flights from Treviso to the real Venice airport (Marco Polo) on 1st April 2019.

Other airlines flying to Venice are (list here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Venice_Marco_Polo_Airport#Passenger ):

  • British Airways - London–Gatwick, London–Heathrow, Seasonal: London–City
  • Easyjet - London-Gatwick, London-Luton
  • Ryanair - London–Southend (begins 3 April 2019), London–Stansted (begins 1 April 2019)
  • TUI Airways - Seasonal: London-Gatwick

Plenty of choice.

I to had to look up Goodenough College, its in central London (Mecklenburgh Square in Bloomsbury)
So the answer is the same as for anywhere else in central London, walk to the nearest tube station (in this case Kings Cross), take a tube to Liverpool Street station and then a Stansted Express train from there. That is a better option than the bus.

According to Wikipedia: "Scheduled express bus or coach services run to and from Stratford (45 minutes), Victoria Coach Station (75 minutes), Liverpool Street Station (55 minutes) and Golders Green (70 minutes) (all in London), costing about half the train fare but taking longer."
