Hello. We are going to England for the first time. We arrive in London around 3 pm on September 20 and depart at 5pm on Oct 1. So we'll have 10 full days to experience and a partial day on Oct 1 before flying home. Should we spend most of the time in London with two or three daytrips outside of London or travel around southern England? I saw a driving trip around southern England on this Rick Steves site by rental car. I wasn't thinking about renting a car but if that's the best thing to do, then I will. I don't have any problem with driving on the left side because I drove in Japan for almost four years.
Exploring London with just a few daytrips out is fine for me but I think my wife might like driving around like the southern England itinerary shows.
Any advice for a first timer?
Thank you,
Steve
