Going to concert at O2 in late March

I'm flying to London for a concert and then going on to visit family in other parts of Europe. I've been to London quite a few times, but never to the area where the O2 is. I normally do airbnb, but am thinking about a hotel for just the three nights I will be there. And it's Easter, so I'm afraid I need to get something booked ASAP. What would you suggest as a good, safe hotel in that area? Thanks!

Easter may surprise you. Two years ago we recommended a hotel near the Holburn tube stop to our nephew's family. They looked online at the hotel's website and saw that they had an Easter week special that included breakfast, normally very expensive, at this 4* business class hotel. They had a ball during the week they were there and really liked the area.

Hopefully some hotels near your concert venue may offer specials too for Easter with their pricing and amenities but if they don't, it is very easy to get around in London from almost anywhere by Tube.

I went to a concert in the O2 at the Brooklyn Bowl in Sept'14. I stayed at the RS recommended Victoria Station area (which I loved) , quite far from there, but it was an easy, fun and fast commute to the area by the Tube and both areas felt safe even late at night. The Jubilee line goes straight there. So I believe you can stay in any area near a tube station and you would be fine. The only downsize for me that night was that the perfomer started the show almost 2,5 hours later than announced, so I had to leave before the gig ended to catch the last tube ride. I guess I could take a few night bus line connections to return, but it was my first night and my first time ever in London so I didn't want to take a chance, neither arrive at 4 am when I had sightseeing plans the next morning.

But I believe there is a new 24 hours tube plan going on in London, and that includes the Jubilee line. Just make sure to check on that before. By the way, the official London Tube and Bus moblie app works fantastic, I highly recommend it.

I wouldn't bother to stay near the O2, unless you want to, of course, as transit to central London is easy. We were at a U2 concert in October and I was very impressed with the crowd control and how quickly and easily we got the Tube back to central London.

Thank you all for the information! I'm still looking, and haven't decided whether or not I want to hang out near the O2 or stay where I usually do. Good to know its on a tube line and I just read that there are boats that also go there.
